ABOUT ME

I’m Elise Abbruzzese, founder of Hera Be Well. I am, first and foremost, a mom. I am also a chef, integrative health coach, and postpartum doula. I work with women who want to attain healthy balance in every aspect of their lives. My clients know intuitively that this is the optimal way to enter motherhood, but they need guidance and support in this endeavor. I founded Hera Be Well to help women through their fertility journey. Postpartum support is a family business. My great-grandmother was a beloved baby nurse in Northern New Jersey during the 1970s and 80s. Hera is the Greek goddess of women, marriage, family and childbirth. She is also the daughter of Rhea, which is my mother’s name. Hera is a tribute to mom, my foremothers, and my children who motivate me to Be Well and make a difference.

As a health coach, I help women identify areas of their health that they want to work on, and I provide information and resources to support their growth. As a chef specializing in health supportive cooking, I collaborate with clients to create plant-based recipes with ingredients known to enhance fertility and support postpartum rejuvenation. As a postpartum doula, I cook deeply nourishing dishes, assist Mom to facilitate her physical recovery, help with infant care and feeding, and provide emotional support for the family. In addition to my own services, I have an extensive referral network to support clients when additional skills are required.

Through my own personal health journey, I discovered the power of integrative and alternative medicine. I have experienced the healing power of plant-based food and healthy lifestyle choices firsthand. I also delivered both of my children without medication and nursed them each for over fifteen months. My children are thriving on a vegetarian diet consisting of mostly whole foods. I walk my talk.

I believe that women need support before and after they have children. It truly takes a village, and I am honored to be a part of your village.

Be well!

Elise
